St. Joseph County Child Support Employee Honored by Peers
Meghan Rans

St. Joseph County Yesterday Meghan Rans of the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office Child Support Division was one of 12 child support professionals honored by their peers at the 2016 Indiana Child Support Conference in Merrillville.  This conference marked the 40th anniversary of the federal child support program and attracted 627 Indiana child support workers. An additional 95 child support workers were recognized for their years of service at the conference.

Meghan Rans of St. Joseph County received the Indiana Prosecutors’ K.I.D. (Kudos for Inspiration and Dedication) Award, given in recognition of Child Support Enforcement Caseworkers who have performed their duties in an exemplary fashion. Child Support Enforcement Caseworkers insure that children receive financial support from non-custodial parents. She was nominated because, as a current Case Management Supervisor, her team-focused, approachable, and positive demeanor has contributed to her development into a great leader, trainer, and model worker.

“I am so proud that Meghan Rans was recognized by her peers for her outstanding work as a Child Support Enforcement Caseworker.  It is employees like Meghan that exemplify our Child Support Division’s commitment to children and families in this County. Our Child Support Division is one of the highest performing units in the State and we could not achieve these results for the families in our County without the hard work and dedication of Meghan and her co-workers.”-Kenneth Cotter, Prosecuting Attorney, St. Joseph County.

Child Support Director Ethan McKinney, DPA, adds: “I am very proud Meghan was recognized by her peers.  She is a true asset to our office and the families we serve.  Her training and leadership skills have served to improve our efforts to collect meaningful support for families."
