The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners have recently awarded a contract to Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc. for the reconstruction of various roadways throughout St. Joseph County. The proposed work to be completed may include, but is not limited to: milling roadways, salvaging existing road for sub-base, replacing culverts, replacing concrete curb ramps, asphalt paving, placing aggregate shoulders, pavement markings and tree removal on the following roads:Anderson Road – from Bittersweet Road to Beech RoadBittersweet Road – from McKinley Highway to RxR tracksClover Road – from Jackson Road to Dragoon TrailDouglas Road – from Capital Avenue to Bittersweet RoadDowney Avenue – form Ireland Road to Dragoon TrailElmer Road – from S.R. 2 to Dead EndFord Street/Windsor Street – from Pear Road to S.R. 2Hollyhock Road – from Auten Road to State LineJohnson Road – from St. Joseph Street to Fellows StreetKern Road – from Fellows Street to Miami HighwayLeeper Road – from Walnut Road to S.R. 23Lilac Road – from Brick Road to Auten RoadMayflower Road – from Kern Road to Sumption TrailMayflower Road – from Western Avenue to Lincolnway WestNew Road – from Snowberry Road to S.R. 23Pear Road – from Grant Road to S.R. 2Roosevelt Road – from Locust Road to S.R. 931Tulip Road – from Hurd Road to S.R. 2The anticipated construction start date is July 10, 2017 and all work shall be completed by October 27, 2017. Work hours may commence at sunrise and extend until sunset. No work is currently scheduled on nights, weekends or holidays. Roadway lanes may be restricted at times, however residents and emergency responders will have continued access during construction.
